Santos attacking midfielder Miguelito has joined the Bolivia squad after a call-up from Oscar Villegas for June’s international window, reporting alongside club-mate Marcelo Contreras.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Bolivia will face Scotland on six June and Algeria on 10 June in the United States. Contreras will miss Santos’ Under-20 side, while Miguelito will not affect the senior squad because the Brazilian calendar pauses during the World Cup.

Miguelito’s call comes amid an upswing at Santos. He featured in the 3-0 win over Deportivo Cuenca that sealed progression to the Copa Sul-Americana play-offs, then scored in the 3-1 victory against Vitória at Vila Belmiro, lifting the club out of the relegation zone before the league break.

His contract situation remains unresolved. He is tied to Santos until 24 April 2027 and has yet to agree an extension.

Defender Contreras has been starting for the Under-20s and recently scored in a draw against Botafogo in the national youth championship at CT Rei Pelé. His deal runs to June 2027 and, like Miguelito, he awaits a decision on a renewal.

Forward Enzo Monteiro, who belongs to Santos but is on loan at Chungbuk Cheongju in South Korea, was not included in Bolivia’s squad list.
