AS Monaco had to be persistent but they earned all three points away to SCO Angers (0-2), registering their first victory away from home in Ligue 1 since.
Les Monégasques’ last win away had dated back to 9th November 2024. They thought they had got that monkey off their back last week when they entered injury time at Toulouse FC with a 1-0 lead last weekend, only for Frank Magri to secure a point.
Monaco had looked on course for another raw. Yahia Fofana was once again in inspired form, making a big save from Mika Biereth in the first half, whilst Vanderson should also have done better with a good chance inside the box during the opening exchanges.
However, Biereth was not denied in the 77th minute as he took a touch off his chest and volleyed in from close range. Maghnes Akliouche then doubled Monaco’s advantage in the 88th minute as Adi Hütter’s side secured a crucial win that lifts them onto the Ligue 1 podium.
