Mikel Arteta hailed Bukayo Saka as “unbelievable” as the England winger hit the landmark of 100 Premier League goal contributions.
Saka reached that milestone on Saturday by slotting a second-half penalty in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham.
The winger has now scored 55 goals and contributed 45 assists since making his Premier League debut.
Saka, still just 24 years old, has achieved that feat in 200 games and Arteta believes that rate makes the winger’s achievements all the more impressive.
“When you look at those numbers, 200 games, 100 goal involvements, I mean it’s unbelievable at his age, what he’s doing,” said Arteta.
“The manner that he’s doing it as well, really impressive. That’s the kind of players that we need to achieve what we want.”
Saturday was also a landmark occasion for Arteta, who took charge of his 300th game in charge of Arsenal.
“I am very proud as it is a big number for this football club,” he said.
“I want to thank everybody, especially my coaching staff that have been with me since day one and without them it’s impossible first of all to do the job and secondly to enjoy it.
“So I know that I have the best people in the world around me and after all the players and the staff that have been since day one, supporting, helping me to be a better coach, to learn from them, to inspire me and to enjoy the good moments as well.
“So I wanted to celebrate it with a win, I’ve got it. Now we have an international break to enjoy it and use the time as well to prepare because what’s coming in the next break is going to be really difficult again.”
