Arsenal entertain Manchester City in Sunday’s much-anticipated Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners are nine points behind leaders Liverpool. The upcoming game against the Cityzens is a must-win to stay in the title hunt.
Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to make multiple changes from the 2-1 Champion League win over Girona in midweek.
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli are poised to be reinstated into the line-up, and Ethan Nwaneri should partner them in attack.
The 17-year-old had an exceptional showing on the right wing against Girona. He scored a fantastic goal with a curling effort from the edge of the box.
The teenager also completed all of his dribbles. He deserves to keep his place on the right wing and could pose problems for Josko Gvardiol with his trickery.
Martinelli should start ahead of Leandro Trossard on the left wing. Trossard may have a point to prove after his unfortunate red card in the reverse fixture.
However, Martinelli is a much better fit. His pace on the counter-attack could be key to exploiting Matheus Nunes, who has been vulnerable as a makeshift right-back.
Havertz has been guilty of squandering clear-cut opportunities lately, but his aerial presence and link-up play could be useful against the Cityzens.
The 25-year-old assisted Martinelli’s deflected winner in the same fixture last term.
Arsenal need Havertz as a focal point. The German should get chances to score, given City’s unconvincing defensive performances this season.
Arsenal’s home game against Man City is arguably one of the biggest games of the season as a Category A fixture, with tickets at a premium.
Gunners fans looking to attend the home game against Man City or subsequent home matches against West Ham United and Chelsea can purchase Arsenal hospitality tickets and ensure a premium experience at the Emirates Stadium.
