Mikel Arteta on double Arsenal injury worry and win over Chelsea | OneFootball

Mikel Arteta says Declan Rice will undergo an assessment after going off with an injury concern in Arsenal’s win over Chelsea.

Goals from William Saliba and Jurrien Timber gave Arsenal victory over their London rivals, but Rice was forced off in the second half.

“I don’t know,” Arteta said when asked about Rice’s problem.

“Declan had to be substituted so he’s going to have to get checked to see if he’s available for Wednesday and the rest are hopefully okay but we don’t know.”

Arteta also says David Raya has been battling fitness issues of late and took a knock against Chelsea.

“I don’t know what happened in that action,” Arteta said. “He had some niggles this week so I don’t know if it’s related to that.”

Both of Arsenal’s goals came from corners and Arteta praised his players for finding a way to win.

“We haven’t scored set-pieces for a few weeks now, but we scored so many in open play, today it was an option to score from these kind of situations,” he said. “We’ve done it so well but we conceded as well.”
