Mikel Arteta provides latest Arsenal injury update on Saliba, Trossard, Havertz and Gabriel | OneFootball

Mikel Arteta says William Saliba will be fit to play again in “a matter of days”.

The Gunners defender missed the draw with Chelsea on Sunday after picking up a knock in training.

“I am not going to be able to help you much today because have another training session later today,” Arteta said when asked if Saliba could be available for the clash with Brentford on Wednesday.

“Until that happens we are not going to know. He had a little niggle but I think it’s going to be a matter of days so let’s see.”

Leandro Trossard is also nearing a return having missed the game against Chelsea too.

But Kai Havertz and Gabriel are still weeks away from returning, Arteta says.

On Havertz, Arteta said: “He was doing everything but he could not go to the next level.

“Now it’s looking like we have unlocked that and we’re desperate to have him. He’s a player that I personally love so much for what he brings to the team, his character, his personality. I see him suffering, being on the outside.

“When he plays regularly, he’s phenomenal. I can’t wait to have him back around the team playing because I think it’s going to be a massive boost for the team.”
