Milan are weighing a summer move for Fiorentina midfielder Nicolo Fagioli. According to Calciomercato.com, the 25-year-old is among options being assessed for their midfield.

The Rossoneri appear on course to hit their pre-season target of returning to the Champions League, having ended 2024-25 without European football. Once a top-four finish is confirmed, squad depth is set to be a focus for 2026-27.

Fagioli’s appeal lies in his versatility, he can operate as a deep-lying screen or as a box-to-box option. His Italian status would also help address a shortage of homegrown players.

He combines significant Serie A experience, 95 appearances, with scope to develop further. Massimiliano Allegri rated him highly during their time together at Juventus, and the pair share the same agent.

There is rival interest from abroad, including LaLiga, and Fiorentina could prefer to sell outside Italy to avoid strengthening a domestic opponent if they decide to cash in. Another factor is fit, Milan already have a similar profile in Ardon Jashari, restricted to just 10 Serie A outings after arriving as one of the division’s priciest recruits last summer.
