Before Hakan Calhanoglu, Maignan had already denied Paulo Dybala from the spot against Roma earlier this month, contributing to another 1-0 win.

Maignan’s deal expires this coming June, but Milan were aware of the risk they took.

A few months earlier, there had been misunderstandings during the contract extension negotiations. Maignan didn’t take it well, and the risk that the goalkeeper leaves as a free agent in June is still there.

However, if the scenario were to change, it would be one of the best news for Milan in recent years as the renewal of Mike, the panther with wings, would be priceless.
