Milan coach Sergio Conceiçao refuses to rule out a January move for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford: ‘He’s a good player, we’ll see…’

Milan coach Conceiçao confirms the Rossoneri are following Manchester United striker Rashford, although the Portuguese claimed he had yet to discuss the January transfer strategies with the club.

“The truth is that directors tried to talk to me about this matter [transfers], but the timing was wrong because we had games to play,” Conceicao said at a press conference on Friday.

“I prefer to talk about this at the right moment. Honestly, the most important thing to me currently is the next game. I know it’s something we must discuss, but right now, tomorrow’s game is the most important thing. Perhaps we can discuss this important matter the day after the game.”

However, a reporter still asked Conceiçao whether Rashford would improve the current squad.

“You try in any way…in Portugal, it’s even worse! Here, you talk about football, and I like it, but once in a while, somebody makes an attempt,” Conceiçao initially replied.

“But that’s fine, I am here to reply. Rashford is a good player, like others. Let’s see what happens.”

Multiple sources claim Milan have already opened talks with Rashford’s entourage, but the Serie A giants need the Manchester United forward to agree to a pay cut.

Sky Sport Italia reported earlier this week that the Rossoneri had offered to sign Rashford on loan with an option to buy.

Rashford has seven goals and three assists in 24 Manchester United appearances this season, but he’s not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. Other Serie A clubs, such as Como and Juventus, have been linked with the 27-year-old.
