Milan director Igli Tare on Luka Modric’s future: “He loves playing for this team” | OneFootball

Serie A giants Milan have seen Luka Modric operate as one of their best players this season and sporting director Igli Tare has opened up his potential renewal.

There has been talk in recent weeks about the Croatian’s stay beyond this season. While Milan have appeared keen on the renewal, it would eventually hinge on the player’s own wishes and whether he is physically capable of playing another season at the top level.

Tare spoke to DAZN about Modric’s situation and clarified that the player loves playing for Milan but he is yet to fully decide on his future.

Tare said – via CM: “One thing’s for sure. Luka loves Milan, he loves Milan a lot, and Milan loves Luka too. I think it will be an easy decision for him.”

“The contract is there, if he wants, and we have an option year, but he has to make a decision with complete peace of mind. He loves playing for this team.”

The entire Serie A season so far has been a great example of Modric’s longevity as a player. Even in Milan’s derby win over Inter, the Croatian put in a Man of the Match performance and he is likely to be key in the remainder of the season too.
