Milan has reached an agreement in principle with Oliver Glasner, but they’d like to secure Ralf Rangnick to lead their new management as well, which is causing a delay, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

Austria have tabled their offer to keep the boss until 2028. The prospective exec asks for complete autonomy and is wary of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s influence. The ball is in owner Gerry Cardinale’s court.

Glasner could be chosen even if Milan miss out on Rangnick. He’d eventually sign a two-year contract with €3.5M annual wages, Calciomercato informs.

In other coaching news, Sassuolo and Torino will go with two up-and-comers as expected, Alberto Aquilani and Ignazio Abate, respectively, Sky reports. The former led Catanzaro to the Serie B playoff final. After working his way up the ladder in Fiorentina’s youth academy, he helmed Pisa for one season in 2023/2024. Instead, the former Rossoneri defender found his footing at Juve Stabia, finishing 7th, after a seesawing spell at Ternana in his rookie campaign.

Monza are suddenly in the market for a new coach. Paolo Bianco has decided to step down and accept Pisa’s offer, returning to the second division. The Brianzoli started their search by inquiring about Alberto Gilardino.

Our Take on Milan, Sassuolo, and Torino

It’s time for the Rossoneri to make at least one call, and they certainly can’t wait much longer for Rangnick. He’s either fully sold or he isn’t. While a combo with familiarity would be ideal, there’s no shortage of quality directors, and it’s hard to do worse than what they had beforehand.

It’s par for the course for the Neroverdi, while Torino hadn’t rolled the dice with a youngster in a minute. Both did a great job while managing underdog sides.
