After speculation linking Mike Maignan with a move away from Milan, when his contract expires, it now looks likely that the Frenchman could sign a new deal with the Rossoneri.
According to journalist Luca Cohen on X, confidence is growing around Maignan’s contract renewal with Milan, with optimism now significantly higher than in recent weeks.
The update reinforces the indications that had already begun to emerge in recent days.

The situation has appeared increasingly stable since sporting director Igli Tare’s recent public comments, which hinted at a positive climate and a willingness from all parties to move towards an agreement.
A key factor supporting Milan’s optimism is that Maignan is not pushing for any excessive economic demands. There is no sign of the “monster” salary request that had been speculated in some reports, easing the negotiation process and increasing the likelihood of a swift conclusion.
Therefore, the talks can progress smoothly and it eliminates one of the major potential obstacles in the discussions.

The goalkeeper was linked heavily with a move to Premier League side Chelsea last summer, with reports claiming the Rossoneri only decided to pull the plug on a potential sale after the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri.
Milan remain confident they can secure the goalkeeper’s long-term future, with talks progressing in a constructive atmosphere.
