Milan join Napoli and Bournemouth in race for Rennes striker Embolo | OneFootball

Milan have identified Breel Embolo as a potential addition to their attack, but face competition from Napoli and Bournemouth for the Switzerland striker.

According to calciomercato.com, the Rennes forward is the latest idea for Rúben Amorim’s frontline, with Milan having opened initial dialogue with the player’s agent to establish whether a deal is feasible and at what cost.

There has been no contact with Rennes as yet; the Ligue 1 club value Embolo at around €15m, with the striker under contract until 2029. Crucially, Embolo, a standout at the recent World Cup, has already signalled his openness to a return to Italy.

Milan and Napoli must clear their attacks before Embolo move

He will not be short of suitors.

Napoli, under Massimiliano Allegri, hold Embolo on their list too, while Bournemouth are also monitoring him, and the Premier League is understood to be a destination the player would welcome. Embolo has long been admired in Serie A, with Juventus and Roma among those to have shown interest in the past.

For the two Italian clubs, though, movement is required elsewhere first. Milan are yet to receive an offer they deem acceptable for Rafael Leão, for whom they want €50m, while Napoli are working to find Romelu Lukaku a new home through sporting director Giovanni Manna.

There is another route for Milan, too: Santiago Giménez is among those who could depart, and should he leave, the Rossoneri may move for Embolo regardless of Leão’s situation.

For now, it remains an early-stage idea, but one that could gather pace quickly once the attacking dominoes begin to fall.
