Milan Keen on Tottenham Star in Case of a Major Sale

Milan have identified Dejan Kulusevski as a potential target for the future, especially should Rafael Leao leave because of his recent demotion. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a big fan of his compatriot and would like to bring him back to Serie A, Calciomercato reports.

The Rossoneri might bid farewell to the Portuguese ace if he doesn’t turn things around. He’s too pricey not to be a fixture of the formation and one of their best contributors. He recently ceded the starting job to Noah Okafor. If his season continues as it has started, they’ll consider selling him for €100M.

At that point, Milan would be well-armed with cash to go after Kulusevski, who’d cost at least €50M. He transferred from Juventus to Tottenham in January 2022. The Spurs shelled out €40M for him. He has put up 17 goals and 21 assists in 109 appearances.

The Rossoneri are also monitoring a talent to shore up their attack: Velez’ Thiago Fernandez. He’s been pivotal to his team’s success this campaign, hitting the net 5 times and dishing 6 helpers in 19 Superliga games. He has played twice with Argentina U-23. Their scouts are also watching Franco Mastantuono in the same country, but the competition to sign him is fierce.

Our Take on Milan and Kulusevski

The sale of Leao would open interesting scenarios and possibly the acquisition of a true star, but they have refrained from splurging excessively on any player so far. Plus, he’s likely a lot more expensive than that. They have never spent more than €25M on any signing under their current ownership. He’s not a left winger, but they have the option of moving either Christian Pulisic or Samuel Chukwueze there.
