Rafael Leao isn’t yet particularly close to leaving despite the ongoing talks with Aston Villa and Galatasaray, but Milan are preparing for such an eventuality and have earmarked Young Boys starlet Alvyn Sanches, Corriere dello Sport informs.

The youngster got off to a fast start, scoring and assisting twice in the first four matches. The Rossoneri haven’t made their move yet but are interested. He’d eventually join their numerous options for the two spots behind Gonçalo Ramos. He’s had multiple productive seasons, considering also his time at Lausanne-Sport, posting 30 goals and 13 assists in 106 Super League matches. The 23-year-old transferred to his current team for €3.5M last year.

Milan shortlisted Sanches while negotiatinf the price tag of Leao with Aston Villa and Galatasaray. Not even the Premier League club seems willing to tender as much as requested: €50/60M. They could soon submit a lower offer, though, and it’ll be up to Gerry Cardinale to make the call.

Jorge Mendes is working tirelessly to find a suitable solution. He approached Tottenham too, but they are only lukewarm and prefer other wingers. Al-Hilal have presented the largest bid to date, but the player doesn’t want to go to Saudi Arabia and hopes for a top-end solution in England. Instead, Galatasaray tendered €35/40M.

They are very optimistic to believe they could really get that much, considering how poorly the situation has been handled. Only the Saudi Pro League could come close, but they’ll have to convince him. Things seem to be barreling toward the same outcome as the Victor Osimhen saga, with Galatasaray snapping him up for subpar terms because the window had ended and there were no alternatives to a messy permanence.
