Benfica defender Tomás Araújo is on Milan’s radar after reports that the Italian side have been scouting the defender.
The Rossoneri’s interest appears not to be fleeting, as they have been looking at the 19-year-old for several months.
According to Calciomercato.com (via Football Italia), the centre-back has impressed enough for Milan to be seriously considering a bid.
Araújo has only a year left on his contract with the Lisbon side, and the Eagles have yet to convince him to sign an extension.
Milan are looking to take advantage of the situation, though city rivals Inter are also keeping an eye on developments.
Benfica, who lead the Primeira Liga from Porto on goal difference, would be loth to lose the promising 19-year-old.
Araujo clearly has leadership qualities, as he is the captain of both the Benfica youth team and the Portugal U19 side.
