Milan are close to finding a solution for Rafael Leao, as Aston Villa and Galatasaray have made fairly satisfactory offers. The player is deciding between the two. Instead, Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana, and Santi Gimenez aren’t any closer to leaving compared to when they were first formally ousted, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The trio hasn’t been inserted into Serie A list. The Rossoneri are strongly considering shelving them until January if they don’t leave in the next few days. The defender has a €3.5M salary and weighs on their balance sheet for €4.55M thanks to some fiscal benefits. Unlike the other two, he can’t leave on loan, as his contract runs out in a year. He’d have to renew it to employ such a formula.

Milan were on the verge of selling Tomori to either Tottenham or Juventus in January 2025, but he dug his heels in to stay. Aston Villa and Juventus inquired recently but did nothing more.

Fofana has multiple suitors in the Premier League, such as Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, or Brighton. However, none have bid for him yet. He has a €15/20M price tag and makes €3M per year. Gimenez has been close to Porto, but the Rossoneri asked the counterpart to improve the proposal, which consisted of a loan with a €15M option to buy.

It’s a normal stance at this stage of the window to push them out, but it’d be silly to have those fairly expensive assets rotting away on the stands for a few months, considering that they aren’t exactly deep defensively and up front.
