Sergio Ramos has decided to leave Monterrey and is looking for another run in Europe to have a shot at being called up for the 2026 World Cup, and has been offered to Milan, among other clubs, by agents and intermediaries, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The iconic defender will be a free agent from January on. He has spent 10 months in Mexico, playing in 30 matches and scoring 7 times. He’s a long shot to make the Spain squad, but starring for a top club would increase his odds.
The services of Sergio Ramos have been proposed to a few sides, including Milan, which are searching for a new defender. He’d be keen on a stint in Serie A, a league he has been close to a couple of times earlier in his career.
The 39-year-old spent most of his career at Real Madrid, winning countless trophies, before heading to PSG for two years and returning to his first club, Sevilla, for one campaign before leaving the Old Continent.
According to Matteo Moretto (via Tribuna), the Rossoneri are weighing their options in the role, but they aren’t really considering the Spaniard at this time.
Word that the Rossoneri is a nice place for veterans to end their career must have gotten around among players, and Luka Modric is a nice sponsor for that. Unless they really have no budget, or would rather keep their powder dry to shore up their attack, they should think about the future too while addressing their defense. Their need for depth there is more for the next few seasons than for the current one.
