Paulo Fonseca is reportedly planning changes in defence and attack when Milan host Venezia tomorrow, including an all-new partnership at the back.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT) on Saturday.

Ismael Bennacer has been ruled out for several weeks, if not months, after an injury on international duty, joining Alessandro Florenzi on the long-term absentee list.

Malick Thiaw has not yet recovered from an ankle knock, but Sky Sport Italia report that Matteo Gabbia was tested in training alongside Strahinja Pavlovic.

This suggests that Fikayo Tomori will be rested ahead of the Champions League clash with Liverpool next week, but it is the first time Gabbia has featured this season.

Davide Calabria is also unlikely to feature after a knock in training, so Emerson Royal is tipped for right-back, with Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao returning after they were dropped against Lazio.

Tammy Abraham should get his first start, as Alvaro Morata is not fully fit and rested for the Champions League.

As for Venezia, Bjarki Bjarkason is out following a sports hernia, but Gianluca Busio is ready to start after picking up an injury playing for the USA at the Paris Olympics.

Milan-Venezia probable line-ups

Milan: Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Abraham

Venezia: Joronen; Idzes, Svoboda, Sverko; Candela, Duncan, Nicolussi Caviglia, Zampano; Oristanio, Busio; Pohjanpalo
