Milan are reportedly preparing to reignite their interest in Manchester City defender Nathan Aké, with the Rossoneri identifying the Dutchman as a primary target to bolster their backline.

According to reporting by Daniele Longo, Milan had already explored a move for Aké last summer, but the operation failed to gain traction as the club lacked the necessary budget to convince either the player or Manchester City.

However, the landscape has shifted significantly, making a potential deal far more appealing. Aké’s current contract at the Etihad is set to expire in 2027, which could provide Milan with more leverage in negotiations as he approaches the final year of his agreement.

A key factor in these renewed efforts is the work of Sporting Director Igli Tare. The Milan executive maintains a very strong relationship with Aké’s representatives at the Wasserman agency, a rapport that has improved even further recently.

This diplomatic bridge is seen as a crucial advantage that could help facilitate a deal that was previously out of reach. With the summer window approaching, Tare’s connections and the player’s contract status have put Milan back in a position to challenge for the versatile defender’s signature.
