Milan and Chelsea player Tiemoue Bakayoko is now unlikely to join French side Lyon and his agent Federico Pastorello has confirmed that.
Bakayoko seemed close to joining Serie B side Cremonese yesterday but the move broke down. Today, there was talk about Lyon’s interest and attempts to sign the former Monaco midfielder in an attempt to bring him back to France.
But the move to Lyon now seems unlikely and this has also been confirmed Pastorello, who spoke to Sky Italia, and revealed that the move can’t go through due to the problems involving Milan and Chelsea regarding the ongoing loan deal.
The agent stated: “Unfortunately he didn’t have the opportunity to join Cremonese due to a series of problems. Lyon? I don’t think it’s open because even there there are problems regarding the loan between Chelsea and Milan. Time is limited and it will be tiring.”
Bakayoko had joined Milan on loan in the summer of 2021 in what was his second stint at the club, with the first one ending without the Rossoneri signing him permanently. There was talk that the ongoing two-year-long loan stint could end last summer but Milan kept him at the club and he is now the last possible action for Milan in the window.
