Millwall, Preston North End, and Stoke City are interested in Hull City right-back Cody Drameh this summer

Championship trio Millwall, Preston North End, and Stoke City are each interested in moves for promotion-winning right back Cody Drameh, with the defender likely to fall in the pecking order on Humberside next season.

According to Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas, each of Millwall, Preston, and Stoke are exploring moves for Hull's Drameh, with the 24-year-old having just one year remaining on his current deal with the Tigers.

With Lewie Coyle already ahead of him in Sergej Jakirovic's plans at the MKM Stadium, and a new right-back reportedly close to joining, this leaves Drameh's future unclear, as the three Championship clubs closely monitor the situation.

Millwall are looking for another option at right-back this summer following the recent injury to Tristan Crama and another option in that position to compete with 34-year-old Ryan Leonard.

Alex Neil's side reportedly looked to sign Nolan Galves from Rodez, but the Frenchman has since joined West Bromwich Albion, as the South Bermondsey outfit have now seemingly set their sights on Drameh as an alternative.

Preston can boast each of Odel Offiah, Brad Potts, and Pol Valentin in the right-back/right wing-back position, but head coach Paul Heckingbottom is still clearly not satisfied with that area.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden shone on loan from Aston Villa a couple of years ago, and his lack of presence on that right flank last season at Deepdale was noticeable, as the Lilywhites look to Drameh to fill that void.

Stoke's full-back issues rumble on for another year, with the Potters having failed to address them as yet, with Junior Tchamadeu set to miss the beginning of the campaign, having missed a large portion of the last one.

Drameh, at 24, has ample Championship experience under his belt despite his age, with over a century of appearances in the second tier across spells with the likes of Leeds United, Cardiff City, Luton Town, Birmingham City, and Hull.

He'd join the latter on a free transfer in the summer of 2024, and has gone on to make 55 appearances for the Tigers across all competitions since, including 22 in their play-off-winning campaign last time around.

Capable of playing as a right-back in a back four, or a wing-back in a back five, the Englishman offers versatility that each of the three aforementioned Championship clubs would value.

Though he has never truly been able to nail down a starting berth in the second tier, more often than not acting as cover, and whether that would change at any of those linked clubs remains to be seen.

Out of contract in 12 months, he likely wouldn't cost too much to purchase now, though Thomas reports that it is up in the air whether a deal can be agreed now, or whether he will fight for his place in the Premier League at Hull.

As all three clubs prepare for the new Championship campaign to get underway this weekend, each will feel as though business is still there to be done before the September 1st deadline.

Millwall fell just short of automatic promotion last time around, and were defeated by Hull in the play-off semi-final, as Neil hopes to right those wrongs this year.

Preston endured another tricky year under Heckingbottom, as did Stoke under Mark Robins, wilth both clubs finishing in the bottom half of the table once again.
