Minnesota United sign Cherrion Valerius on loan from NAC Breda | OneFootball

Minnesota United FC have acquired defender Cherrion Velerius on loan from Dutch second-division side NAC Breda, the club announced Thursday.

The 20-year-old Curaçao international's loan lasts through the 2026 MLS season and includes a purchase option.

"Cherrion is a high-upside young player who has already gained significant high-level experience for someone his age," said Minnesota interim sporting director Hank Stebbins.

"We’re excited to welcome him to the club, get him integrated with the group, and support his continued development."

An NAC Breda Academy product, Velerius has featured 50 times for the Yellow Army since breaking into the first team.

Internationally, he earned his first and only cap for Curaçao during Concacaf Nations League play in September 2024.
