In a tightening battle at the top of the Campeonato Brasileiro, Mirassol face Palmeiras then Flamengo within three days, a run that could shape the title race.

Nosso Palestra notes that the interior São Paulo club may become a swing factor as the leading pair sit six points apart.

First up is Palmeiras on Sunday 30 at Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia, the Maião, in the 25th round, kicking off at 18:30 Brasília time. Palmeiras top the table on 51 points, Mirassol are 17th with 24 and in the relegation zone.

Three days later comes Flamengo at the Maracanã on Wednesday 2 at 19:30, a rescheduled match from the fourth round. Flamengo have 45 points and a game in hand on Palmeiras.

The Maracanã date could directly influence the leadership. If Flamengo beat Mirassol, they would move to 48 points, three behind Palmeiras before the pair meet again in the second half of the season.

The task is significant for Mirassol too. They are winless in three league matches and sit one point behind Internacional, the first team outside the bottom four.

Earlier this season Mirassol lost 1-0 to Palmeiras in São Paulo. Their most recent meeting with Flamengo ended in a 5-1 defeat at the Maião.
