Plymouth Argyle are currently rooted to the bottom of the Championship table
Miron Muslic has made it clear his intention to make additions to the Plymouth Argyle squad before the January transfer window closes.
The Pilgrims’ position in the Championship took a further blow at the weekend, with the team suffering a 1-0 loss to QPR.
Many of their relegation rivals also picked up points, including wins for Portsmouth, Hull City and Cardiff City.
Muslic will be keen to get signings in before the 3 February deadline in order to salvage something from the season for Plymouth.
Muslic has made it clear that he wants to strengthen the first team squad in both defence and attack before the window shuts in two weeks.
He is hopeful that the club can still survive relegation if they can get the right players in before the deadline.
"It's not only about getting the players in, it's about supporting this current squad and they need this,” said Muslic, via the BBC.
"Argyle was very clear to me over the last 10 days, 12 days, that they are pushing and they are preparing the necessary support for the team, and I think in the next couple of days we will also have some players here.
"I know the time is ticking because the schedule is heavy, but also is for the other teams.
"It's about us finding the right personality and the right character players who realise the urgent situation we are in, ready to come here to fight, to support, and to find a way out.
"If we can manage to do this we have a chance to stay up.”
Muslic has overseen two league games since taking charge of Plymouth earlier this month, having replaced Wayne Rooney, drawing one and losing the other.
The Pilgrims are currently 24th in the table, five points adrift of safety after 27 games played.
Plymouth are heading for relegation as things stand, unless they can magic up something in the next two weeks.
The 1-0 loss to QPR particularly stung because of the positive results elsewhere in the division, which only further highlighted the need to reinforce the squad.
Muslic is realising now the size of the task at hand, and it will take a few players coming in to really make an impact.
It will be a busy final two weeks of the window across the division, but particularly so for the Pilgrims.
