Misfiring Barcelona forward not worried about his recent goal drought

There was a moment earlier this season when Ferran Torres looked ready to silence every doubt surrounding his Barcelona career.

Goals were flowing, confidence was high, and it finally felt like his long-awaited breakthrough at Barcelona had arrived. But football rarely follows a straight line.

Ferran’s numbers from the first half of the campaign told a compelling story – 13 goals, consistent impact, and growing importance in the attack.

However, since the turn of 2026, he has managed just three goals this year, coming against Athletic Club in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final, Racing Santander in the Copa del Rey, and Elche in La Liga.

The last of those, against Elche on January 31, remains his most recent goal. Since then, the net has stayed out of reach. That’s a drought of almost two months

Lewandowski’s presence complicates matters

At the same time, competition has intensified.

Robert Lewandowski continues to be a dominant figure in Barcelona’s attack, and his presence naturally limits Ferran’s margin for error.

As the veteran forward regains rhythm, Ferran is once again finding himself battling to secure a consistent starting role.

In recent matches, that has been shown in his minutes, with the Spaniard coming off the bench in the last three games.

Calm mindset despite external noise

Despite the growing scrutiny, Ferran’s approach has not changed.

According to SPORT, the forward remains calm about his current drought, as he understands the nature of his role and recognises that scoring often comes in waves.

Rather than panic, he is backing himself to rediscover his rhythm. More importantly, he still feels the backing of Hansi Flick.

That trust could prove decisive, and the upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano could be the turning point.

There is a strong possibility that Ferran returns to the starting lineup, offering him the platform he needs to reset his season.

For a forward, moments like these will matter, as one goal can quickly shift momentum and rebuild confidence.

And that is exactly what Ferran is waiting for.
