The Africa Cup of Nations is known for its brilliantly chaotic nature and the 2025 tournament has gotten off to a start worthy of just that.
Hosts Morocco are the favourites to win the tournament and had a golden chance to get their campaign off to a dream start inside 10 minutes against Comoros.
Iyed Mohamed was adjudged to have taken down Brahim Díaz inside the box but Soufiane Rahimi's weak spot kick was put far too central and turned away by Yannick Pandor.

To add to injury to insult, veteran defender Romain Saïss was forced off less than 10 minutes later with a suspected hamstring issue that could threaten his participation for the rest of the tournament.
We're only 30 minutes in. What else could happen on opening night?!
