Red Bull New York vs New England Revolution

RBNY Double Chance & Over 2.5 +102

The Red Bulls had a dominant 2-1 win over Orlando City last weekend, with a stronger game than the final score reflected.  They set records by starting 3 players under the age of 18, and one of those (17 year old Julian Hall) scored a brace.

Not only was RBNY young, they were fast, energetic, and unrelenting.  Michael Bradley won his MLS debut as head coach, and now the Red Bulls host the New England Revolution

The Red Bulls are the better team, and my confidence in them is surging after week 1.  However, 90 minutes is still a small sample size.  I will pair New York on the double chance (to win or draw) with an over of 2.5 goals at nearly even money.

I want RBNY to win outright, but this gives the young squad some wiggle room. That defense will give up goals, whether it be week 2 or not, and that draw insurance is going to come in handy this season.

Colorado Rapids vs Portland Timbers

Portland Either Half Win -112

Last week, the Portland Timbers won 3-2 over the Columbus Crew, showing resilience and attacking strength, even without their star #10 David da Costa.  He will be missing again this week, but I think the Rapids present less of a challenge. Last week, Colorado had 58.8% possession, but lost 2-0 and let Seattle double their shots and their xG.

I don’t want to take Portland outright, but if we split this game into two halves, we can bet on Portland to win either one.

Portland won at least one half in 15 of their 38 matches, which included some miserable soccer.  This year, with a full season of Kristoffer Velde and Antony playing at a high level, plus an improved defense, I expect that number to be closer to 20.  This is one match, against an inferior opponent, that they need to come out strong and win at least one half.

Real Salt Lake vs Seattle Sounders

Seattle Sounders +150

This week, the Seattle Sounders head to Salt Lake City to face RSL.  I think the Sounders are the better team, and they got off to a strong start last week.  They did lose Pedro de la Vega and Jordan Morris, but Paul Rothrock stood in and looked like the best player on the field.

Here’s the catch.

The Sounders haven’t won in Salt Lake City since 2012 during a November 2nd playoff game.  That 4,866 day streak should be broken this weekend.

Little tidbits of trivia like this have pushed the line to +150, when it should be much closer to even money.  I love attacking these plays where the general public might stay away. That 14 years had so many player, coach, and tactic changes that the streak should be nothing more than coincidence.

Houston Dynamo vs Los Angeles FC

Los Angeles FC +110

We all just watched LAFC last weekend, and saw what they did to Inter Miami, right?

If LAFC is plus money, bet on LAFC

Orlando City vs Inter Miami

Over 3.5 +116

Orlando City will host Inter Miami with a prime-time 7:00 PM ET kickoff. This could be an interesting match, because Orlando beat Miami both times they played in 2026. However, Miami should be embarrassed by how they played in LAFC, where they were shut out.

I am torn here between Inter Miami playing angry, and Orlando pulling the upset.  After all, Messi has never played an away game in Orlando.  I want to divorce myself from the outcome and enjoy this match.  I do, however, think we’re in for a show.

Orlando should be an over 3.5 team all season with their poor defense and stout offense. Add this one to the betslip; Miami could cover 4 all by themselves.

San Diego FC vs St. Louis City

San Diego FC -1.5 +160

San Diego FC is one of the best in the league, fresh off of a 5-0 win over Sporting KC.  They are expected to land bottom-of-the-table and is fresh off of a 1-1 draw which they should have won.  While they were frisky, but the finishing was horrid. I don’t see that getting better; they traded Joao Klauss and never replaced him with a capable center forward.

San Diego should win handily, but -185 is not good odds.  I’ll take the -1.5 goal spread, and bet it instead at +160.
