AC Milan picked up three points in Tuesday’s comeback win over Como, but they also picked up three new injury problems too.

MilanNews have offered an update on Malick Thiaw, Christian Pulisic and Alvaro Morata, the trio that Sergio Conceicao confirmed after the game he had to bring off because each had a physical problem.

All three underwent MRI scans yesterday from which two bits of news and one bit of bad news emerged. The checks fortunately excluded injuries for both the American and Spanish forwards, while Thiaw’s issue is more severe.

The German defender will be forced to miss several matches and is also at serious risk for the Milan derby against Inter scheduled for Sunday 2 February at 18:00 CET. In view of the next matches, Matteo Gabbia will most likely replace him at the centre of the Milan defence alongside Fikayo Tomori.

Morata will also be out against Juventus but not because of the muscle fatigue he suffered in Como, but rather due to the fact that he will be suspended after picking up too many yellow cards. His return will take place on Wednesday 22 January at 21:00 in the Champions League against Girona at San Siro.

Pulisic also breathed a sigh of relief, as he is also dealing with a slight muscle fatigue rather than a strain or tear. The winger will try to recover for the game against Juventus on Saturday but obviously no risks will be taken.

The player will be carefully monitored between today and tomorrow and then the Milan medical staff and Sergio Conceiçao will decide whether to at least call him up for the bench for the game on Saturday evening in Turin.
