AC Milan are preparing to face Sassuolo at San Siro tomorrow night, and Paulo Fonseca is expected to make several changes across the board.

Three games in seven days mean Fonseca almost is forced to rotate his squad, especially so considering his side plays again on Friday, and for this reason, changes are to be expected.

In defence, the Portuguese will have to make two changes due to medical reasons – Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez. However, the entire defence will be shifted, according to this evening’s predicted XI from Milan News.

Marco Sportiello will take the place of Maignan, with Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, and Strahinja Pavlovic coming in for the available players in the back four – Filippo Teracciano will replace Theo at left-back.

In midfield, Fonseca will not make any changes to the duo that has served him so well so often: Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders will start once again. A decision that certainly brings into question the level of rotation, given the midfielders have rarely been offered a break

Ahead of them, Fonseca changes again, Yunus Musah and Christian Pulisic will be rested, with Samuel Chukwueze and Ruben Loftus-Cheek replacing them. However, the head coach is yet to decide on the left wing – Rafael Leao could be rested for Noah Okafor, but a decision is yet to be made.

Tammy Abraham is expected to lead the line, but with Francesco Camarda set to be named on the bench, the starlet will be hoping for some minutes.

Probable Milan XI vs. Sassuolo (4-2-3-1): Sportiello; Calabria, Tomori, Pavlovic, Terracciano; Fofana, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Leao/Okafor; Abraham
