Following a poor campaign - both individually and collectively - the Egyptian King reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early.
The 34-year-old is currently strutting his stuff at the FIFA World Cup with Egypt - contributing a goal and two assists across the Pharaohs' opening two group stage matches.
Salah is demonstrating he still has got plenty to offer and will be a man in demand when his Liverpool contract officially expires on June 30.
Teams like Juventus, Roma and Fenerbahce have got ambitions of keeping the two-time African footballer of the year in Europe. But the lure of Saudi Arabia could prove strong.
Only a few months ago it was reported that Al-Ittihad were putting together a package worth around £1.67m per WEEK in wages for Salah.
And now comes a report from Bruno Andrade on ESPN Brasil that Al-Hilal are making Salah their priority in the transfer window.
The trusted insider nonetheless revealed that Salah’s prospective salary in the Saudi Pro League is going to be a lot LOWER than he once might have expected.
Speaking on the Fala a Fonte programme Andrade disclosed that Al-Hilal had drawn up a contract worth €60m for Salah across three seasons - with another year tacked on as an option.
That deal would be worth €20m per year for three to four seasons for a potential total of €80m - a little less in gross terms at least than he was making at Liverpool.
