Mohamed Sahli: candidate to revive the Gabon Panthers

After the Gabon Panthers crashed out of AFCON 2025 in the group stage, FEGAFOOT is on the hunt for a new head coach. In this context, Australian coach Mohamed Sahli has officially submitted his application for the position of National Team Head Coach.

Strong experience in Europe and Africa

Holder of the UEFA Pro License, Mohamed Sahli boasts significant international experience. He has managed in the Austrian Bundesliga with Wolfsberger AC, including a stint in the UEFA Europa League, and has also coached in North Africa with Club Sportif Monastirien and Club Africain de Tunis.

He has also played a key role in developing young talents in Austria, contributing to the rise of world-renowned players such as Erling Haaland, Sadio Mané, and Dominik Szoboszlai.

A philosophy built on discipline and performance

In his application, the 48-year-old coach highlights a modern approach:

  • Rigorous performance analysis;
  • Discipline and collective cohesion;
  • Leadership based on clarity and trust.

He emphasizes his belief that Gabon has tremendous potential, capable of shining on both the African and international stage if the team is properly structured. Fully aware of the expectations of FEGAFOOT and the Gabonese people, Mohamed Sahli says he is ready to put his experience to work for the Panthers. This is a dossier to watch closely, especially as the authorities seek to make the right choice to restore hope to supporters after a difficult year for Gabonese football.
