According to a report from Fabrice Hawkins, Mohamed Salah (33) has been left out of Liverpool’s squad to face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening. The Premier League champions leave the Egyptian international forward out of their squad to face the Serie A club in response to an explosive interview he gave following their 3-3 draw with Leeds United.
Salah has been benched by Arne Slot for the Reds’ last three Premier League matches. Aggrieved by the decision to demote him from the starting eleven, the forward spoke out against the decision and how this has impacted his relationship with the Dutchman. The former Chelsea attacker stated that his relationship with the former Feyenoord manager had “broken down”, and insinuated that he didn’t know his long-term future at the club.
With the Egypt captain absent from the Merseyside club’s squad to face Inter and AFCON looming, Brighton will be the last game that he is available for. The attacker alluded to the fact that this may be his last game at Anfield and that he has told his parents to attend the match.
