Monaco and Lyon are weighing up loan moves for Leipzig centre-back El-Chadaille Bitshiabu this winter. According to L'Équipe, both clubs could table proposals to take the 20-year-old on a temporary deal.

Monaco need cover after Mohammed Salisu was ruled out for the season with a left knee cruciate injury, and Christian Mawissa faces several weeks out with a hamstring problem. With limited funds, the Principality club would favour a loan and are understood to have placed Bitshiabu among their priority targets.

Bitshiabu joined Leipzig in summer 2023 and has made five appearances in all competitions this season. Monaco are considering a loan without a purchase option, and Lyon could pursue a similar arrangement.

They are not alone, with two foreign clubs having checked on the former Paris player, who is under contract until June 2029. Manchester United, currently prioritising a new head coach after the sacking of Ruben Amorim, and Bayer Leverkusen, third in the Bundesliga, are weighing up loans with options to buy.

An imposing 20-year-old regarded as a high-potential prospect, he could look for more regular football away from the east German club.
