Le10Sport are reporting that AS Monaco are lining up a summer move for Toulouse defender Anthony Rouault (21), but may come up against significant competition.
Rouault came through the ranks at the club and has excelled during his debut season in Ligue 1. He has been undroppable from Philippe Montanier’s side and is an essential pillar in a solid Toulouse defence. However, his progress hasn’t gone unnoticed, and the player is already attracting major interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Le10Sport, Côte d’Azur rivals OGC Nice attempted to sign the player last summer, to no avail. Lille OSC and numerous foreign clubs are also interested in the Frenchman, whose contract expires in the summer of 20204.
Monaco, just days after the closure of the winter transfer window, are taking clear steps to try and instigate a deal ahead of the summer transfer window. The club are in the market for centre-backs after the departure of Benoît Badiashile, whilst Guillermo Maripán and Axel Disasi are expected to be targeted in the summer.
