L’Équipe are reporting that AS Monaco have made Palmeiras’ Danilo (21) a priority signing this winter, and have tabled their first offer for the midfielder.
The opening bid is a player plus cash offer. The Principality club have offered Palmeiras €13m plus Brazilian midfielder Jean Lucas (24). Former Lyon player Jean Lucas has struggled for minutes this season, and if Monaco are to recruit Danilo, they will have to first rid themselves of their current Brazilian asset in order to free up a space for a non-EU player to take.
Monaco value Jean Lucas at €7m, meaning that the Ligue 1 club believe the deal to be worth €20m. This is the fee also proposed by Nottingham Forest. The Premier League club have already submitted a €20m offer for Danilo, but Palmeiras are yet to accept. According to Santi Aouna, the player himself has already agreed on personal terms with Nottingham Forest, whilst the two clubs continue to negotiate a deal.
