AS Monaco are edging closer to a €30m agreement to sign sought-after Nantes striker Matthis Abline (23), according to L’EquipeThe former Stade Rennais Academy graduate has already agreed personal terms with Les Monégasques on the basis of a 5-year deal. Abline is poised to become Les Canaris‘ record sale. With Nantes going down in Ligue 2, his departure was anticipated given his potential and his marketability.

AS Monaco submitted several bids to their Nantes counterparts in the past months, and they are now closing in on an agreement to sign Abline. Monaco were expected to step up their search for a versatile striker with Folarin Balogun expected to depart on the back of a convincing 2026 World Cup with the USMNT. PSG target Maghnes Akliouche and Aleksandr Golovin are also set to leave the Principality side.
