According to Fabrizio Romano, George Ilenikhena (17) is set to sign for AS Monaco from Royal Antwerp. Ilenikhena has his medical scheduled with the Principality who have agreed on a €20 million fee for the teenager.

The highly sought-after forward became the youngest-ever Frenchman to score in the Champions League beating the record set by Warren Zaïre-Emery (18) that evening when he helped Antwerp record a famous 3-2 victory over Barcelona on the 13th of December.

Ilenikhena only arrived in Belgium the year prior when he moved away from Amiens SC for a €6 million fee. The Frenchman had been sought after by Juventus at the time, but instead to continue his development in the Belgian Pro League rather than scrap for playing time in Europe’s elite.

Ilenikhena scored 14 goals across all competitions for Antwerp and has been rewarded with a return to the French league where he will once again compete in the Champions League and experience Ligue 1 for the first time in his young career.
