Monaco are interested in Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta, according to Foot Mercato.
Berta arrived at Arsenal last year. The Italian oversaw a summer window that brought Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and Martin Zubimendi to the club. Those deals could underpin a Premier League title push and, after dispatching Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night, Arsenal are viewed among the favourites for this season’s Champions League.
Interest in Berta extends beyond Monaco. Bayern Munich are keen despite already employing two sporting directors, Max Eberl and Christoph Freund.
Manchester City are also interested, despite appointing Hugo Viana last year. If Pep Guardiola departs this summer, a reshuffle at City could follow.
Any Monaco approach could depend on CEO Thiago Scuro leaving his post, with the executive under pressure this season.
