Aleksandr Golovin, 30, is nearing a return to Russia and could join Zenit St. Petersburg, according to Foot Mercato.
The AS Monaco playmaker joined in 2018 and is the longest-serving member of Filipe Luís’ squad. Monaco are seeking sales to trim the wage bill and raise funds after Folarin Balogun’s proposed move to Everton fell through at the last moment.
With the Russian window still open, movement at Stade Louis II remains possible despite the French deadline passing. Golovin has been in talks with Zenit for several weeks and could make a permanent exit.
Pape Cabral could also depart, with a €10m switch to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli under consideration, reports L’Équipe.
Any exits would allow Monaco to register a ‘joker’ signing, with Hicham Boudaoui of OGC Nice among the options, Foot Mercato understands.
