An insight into the plans of the coaching staff at AS Monaco in hopes of keeping the influence of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to a minimum in the meeting between the clubs has on Thursday been provided.
Monaco and Barca, of course, are primed to lock horns later tonight, in the respective clubs’ season opener in the Champions League.
The aforementioned Lamine, meanwhile, will be expected to feature from the off, fresh off another starring performance in his side’s downing of Catalan neighbours Girona last weekend.
Those on the Monaco side of things, in turn, have this week been testing out different strategies, in a bid to limit the impact enjoyed by Barcelona’s wing sensation.
And, as per a report from Diario Sport, such efforts have given rise to an incoming shake-up at the back for Thursday’s hosts.
Monaco boss Adi Hütter, it is understood, is ready to field right-back Vanderson on the left of his defence, with the sole intention of keeping tabs on Lamine.
As much will mean Wilfried Singo starting on the opposite side, a tactic which the Ligue 1 outfit will be hopeful plays some part in slowing down what has been a rampant Blaugrana attack so far this season.
