Denis Zakaria’s (28) period of absence has been confirmed by AS Monaco manager Adi Hutter.

Hutter revealed on Wednesday night that the club captain had suffered an adductor injury in training earlier that day. He added that the midfielder was expected to miss several weeks of action. He has since undergone tests that have provided a more specific timeframe for his return.

Bamba latest Monaco midfielder to sustain an injury

Hutter announced on Saturday that Zakaria would miss around two months of action. It is a blow for Monaco, who now find themselves short in midfield. Aleksandr Golovin, capable of filling in, is also injured and out for several weeks. Paul Pogba is not yet fit to return, and Aladji Bamba, who started in the defeat against Club Brugge in midweek and in the victory over FC Metz on Sunday, suffered a hamstring injury in the latter game. He came off before half-time in that 5-2 win over Les Grenats, with Hutter saying post-match that he “hopes” that the injury is not too serious.
