Eric Dier missed AS Monaco’s final game of the calendar year, a 2-1 win over AJ Auxerre in the Coupe de France, due to personal reasons. The Englishman was once again absent on Monday as the Principality club returned to training following a short winter break, L’Équipe reports.
Dier has yet to play a game since Sébastien Pocognoli replaced Adi Hutter as Monaco manager back at the start of October. The former Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich and Sporting CP player has struggled with two separate injuries. He was on the brink of a return but his absence against L’AJA was not injury-related.
He has yet to rejoin the group, with the player still absent for personal reasons. Lamine Camara and Krépin Diatta, both at the AFCON with Senegal, were absent, as was Takumi Minamino, victim of an ACL injury during that win over Auxerre. Following minor injuries, Paul Pogba and Philipp Kohn are rebuilding their fitness.
