Montpellier set low Joris Chotard asking price | OneFootball

Montpellier HSC have set a low asking price for their midfielder, Joris Chotard (23), Mohamed Toubache-Ter understands.

Last season, Montpellier turned down a €7m bid from Wolfsburg. This summer, they aren’t even looking for half that. That offer from the Bundesliga side wasn’t turned down because MHSC were against a sale; it was rejected, assuming that an improved offer would arrive. But one never did.

As a result, a disgruntled Chotard remained at the club. However, in their 50th anniversary year, it was a torrid season for La Paillade, who finished rock-bottom of Ligue 1 and were subsequently relegated to Ligue 2.

Many of the club’s assets have already left, including Moussa Al-Taamari, Arnaud Nordin, and Akor Adams. However, there will be further departures, not that the club will be able to garner high fees. Chotard is an example of that. Toubache-Ter understands that the France U21 international will be available for just €3m this summer.
