According to a report by Marc Mechenoua of Le Parisien, Montpellier HSC’s Joris Chotard (22) is a target for multiple clubs across Portugal and Germany.
The midfielder is expected to start later today when Montpellier open their Ligue 1 campaign by hosting RC Strasbourg Alsace. However, Chotard is unlikely to remain in the south of France for long with it being widely suspected that he will be picked up by another club, especially after his impressive performances for the France U23s in the Olympic Games.
Mechenoua writes that the midfielder is the subject of interest from Portuguese rivals SL Benfica and FC Porto, as well as from Bundesliga clubs VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Mönchengladbach. They are suspected to be looking at the midfielder and keen to make a move in the coming days. However, they may face some competition from Ligue 1 with Stade Rennais previously linked in May with a move for Chotard.
