Montpellier’s Téji Savanier subject of interest from Middle East | OneFootball

Téji Savanier’s (33) time at Montpellier HSC is coming to an end. The club are rock-bottom of Ligue 1 and are destined for Ligue 2. Their relegation could be confirmed as early as this weekend.

There will be a firesale at the cash-strapped club and the more experienced players on larger salaries, aka Savanier, are the ones that La Paillade are most desperate to move on. Preparing for the future, Savanier has already been removed from the starting line-up by Zoumana Camara, who is preparing for the future and prioritising giving top-flight experience to some of the club’s younger players.

Savanier will therefore leave Montpellier this summer, especially given that his relationship with the club and its supporters has soured since boastful comments about his salary during a Coupe de France exit at minnows Le Puy earlier in the season. Mohamed Toubache-Ter understands that the Frenchman is attracting interest from the Middle East. A club from Qatar and another from Saudi Arabia have expressed an interest in purchasing the player, who come the end of the season will have one year remaining on his deal at MHSC.
