Monza CEO Adriano Galliani insists that Inter Milan and all other suitors interested in Daniel Maldini will have to wait until the summer.

Following a promising six-month loan spell at Monza, the club managed to sign him on a permanent basis last summer. Milan agreed to release him for free in exchange for a 50% sell-on fee on a future transfer.

Despite the Biancorossi’s miserable start to the campaign under Alessandro Nesta, Maldini has managed to impress on an individual level. He even earned back-to-back call-ups for the Italian national team.

The young man’s displays have earned him a host of suitors in Serie A, with Inter chief among them.

In recent weeks, it has been revealed that Maldini’s contract includes two release clauses. The first is only applicable in Italy and is worth 12 million euros, while foreign clubs would have to splash 15 million.

Monza CEO Adriano Galliani Comments On The Future Of Inter Milan Target Daniel Maldini

For his part, Galliani doesn’t deny the existence of these clauses. However, he reveals they won’t be active yet in January,

“We must not think about the market now, we must think about getting points until January,” said the legendary Milan director in his interview with ANSA via FcInterNews.

“Then we will see what we can do on the market.

“Maldini is a player with great potential who is growing and can still improve a lot.

“In January, there is no release clause. He will end the campaign in Monza, then we will see about next season.”

Hence, Galliani rules out Maldini’s exit in the middle of the campaign, but is apparently open to negotiating a summer exit.
