Monza clinch Serie A return, completing 2026-27 line-up

Monza clinched an immediate return to Serie A by winning the promotion play-off final, completing the 2026-27 top-flight line-up.

According to Football Italia, the Brianzoli secured promotion on the basis of a higher regular-season finish.

They won the first leg 2-0, then lost the return 0-2, leaving the aggregate level. Their third-placed finish meant they advanced over fifth-placed Catanzaro.

It comes just a season after relegation at the end of 2024-25.

They join 2025-26 Serie B winners Venezia and runners-up Frosinone as the newly promoted sides.

The 2026-27 Serie A line-up comprises Atalanta, Bologna, Cagliari, Como, Fiorentina, Frosinone, Genoa, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Lecce, Milan, Monza, Napoli, Parma, Roma, Sassuolo, Torino, Udinese, Venezia.
