Unfortunately, OGC Nice and Roma fans continued to cause problems before their Europa League match, as police deployed tear gas.

It kicks off at the Allianz Riviera, called the Grand Stade de Nice for UEFA purposes, at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

The atmosphere was already extremely tense, with 103 Giallorossi ultras arrested overnight following crashes in the city centre.

Just an hour before kick-off, the problems continued outside the Allianz Riviera stadium, as Nice fans tried to rush the Roma team bus and throw bottles.

The two sets of supporters then had groups break off from the agreed route and tried to come into contact, intercepted by police.

Tear gas was deployed to keep them apart, but the situation remains on edge for the first Europa League match of these teams.

It is the first time Nice and Roma have crossed paths in a competitive match.
