Daniel Farke lauded the impact of the Leeds fans in helping his side to beat Chelsea at Elland Road.
Farke’s team won 3-1 thanks to goals from Jaka Bijol, Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, climbing out of the relegation zone following a run of four games without a win.
“I didn’t have the feeling at all that we were not one unity,” Farke said when asked if the win can ease the doubts from supporters following a poor run.
“I think Elland Road was back at its best from the first to the last second. I didn’t see any negative comments, I didn’t see any doubt apart from a guy behind my bench who was not happy in the first half when we had to defend a little bit. I would love to just attack but sometimes, it’s Chelsea mate, we have to defend as well.
“We are such a passionate club and it’s quite normal, the outside noise, but I didn’t have the feeling at all that we are not one unity.
“We are a club on a mission and this club wants to establish itself at the top level. We can do this with our supporters, when we make Elland Road a fortress.
“After perhaps a bit of a poorer performance in an away game or after a disappointing result, the emotions are sometimes high, it’s normal (the criticism) and it’s nothing I want to change.
“I knew exactly for which club I signed and I’ve felt a great unity at the club today again. I don’t think change is needed, I want more of the same. We play another top side on Saturday in Liverpool.”
Farke also says his side’s return to winning ways was long overdue.
“It was a long time coming,” he said. “The players deserved to have a night like this.
“I can’t really remember one poor home performance from us in the last 15 months. We’ve lost two games at home in the last 15 months against Tottenham and Aston Villa.
“Many performances of this season, we deserved more points. We brought both together tonight.”
